Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
To understand your child's unique needs, we use standardized and functional assessments. Our therapy is tailored to each individual, respecting their identity and communication style. Whether your child communicates verbally or uses Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), we can help them develop their language skills and reach their full potential.
Speech Articulation
At STEPS, we help children overcome difficulties pronouncing sounds correctly, such as a lisp. This not only improves their ability to be understood but also reduces the risk of sound errors impacting future reading and writing skills.
We also provide services for Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). Our therapists use the evidence-based methods to address CAS and empower children to develop strong communication skills.
Fluency (Stuttering)
Stuttering is a speech disorder characterized by repetitions (sounds, syllables, or words) or prolongations of sounds, disrupting the natural flow of speech. These may be accompanied by pauses, signs of struggle, or facial tension.
At STEPS, we provide evidence based stuttering treatment programs as part of our therapy.
Voice
Your voice is a powerful tool. At STEPS, our comprehensive voice therapy program takes a personalised approach. We assess all these factors to develop an individualised treatment plan that helps you achieve optimal vocal health.
Social Skills
More than just eye contact, social skills involve body language, conversation, and expressing emotions. These skills are crucial for building relationships and success in life.
Social communication disorders can make using language in social settings difficult. At STEPS, we can help individuals develop the skills they need to connect with others.
